Rosetta, designed and built by Airbus Defence and Space, was sent into the darkest regions of our solar system in 2004. It found the mysterious comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko, took brillant pictures and put a lander on its surface.
On 12th November 2014, Rosetta made history when it sent Philae to touch down on comet 67P. Our congratulations to everyone in ESA, in Europe’s national space agencies and in the European aerospace industry. Europe makes it possible.
